An Ivey Autumn

Here on Ivey, it is definitely Autumn. We thought we might get away with an indefinite summer, but the new season is truly upon us at last. For a while, we enjoyed cooler days and a few leaf color changes, but not much. It was like Autumn was creeping up on us slowly.

But now the leaves are changing colors in earnest, and the maples changed and reached their peak color in a space of only a few weeks.

We still have flowers blooming in the gardens and the sunny days have been kind to us. But the fruit of the trees and bushes are ripening for a fall harvest for the birds, and the cooler evenings are arriving.

All this Autumnal color is just around our house, all in our yard. The glories of the changing seasons, the wonder of our world. Right there for us to enjoy. What a fabulous gift, this fall.

I won't tell you how springish things are here. My passenger pointed out two beautiful trees today. Only two with any color at all.

Thanks so much for your encouraging notes. I truly had only meant to write about journaling, and here I am knee deep into "me." Darn it.
