I finally finished my first journal for SueB's class. In the process, I ended up purchasing fabric for more journals AND a SEWING MACHINE! Can you believe it? I think I can do this sewing thing, at least when it comes to straight lines and satin stitch. We will see what the future holds. I have so much to learn from these journal making folks - the glues, the options, the embellishments - everything is a unique work of art assembled to make a fabulous creation. Sue's class is fabulous, for those of you that are curious. I recommend it!
Here is the outside front of the journal -
These are the three signatures, sewn in to the journal, pictured against the inside lining.
This is a full inside shot of the journal with a pocket on the left and the signatures on the right. You can see the pocket and tags on the first signature page.
This is the last signature page. There is a tag pocket on one side, and a clear pocket on the other side with two cards and envelopes for sending notes.
The outside of the journal looks pretty cool with the sewn in signatures also.
I still have many things that I can do better, but I am excited that my first one is well and truly done and I can get going on the next journal to catch up with the class!
